A chance to learn circus skills at Vale of Belvoir event

There will be a chance for family members to learn circus skills at an upcoming attraction in the Vale of Belvoir.

It will be part of a three-day visit to Belvoir Retail Village by Boom Circus with acrobats, jugglers and clowns ready to entertain audiences at shows and workshops.

The circus will be at the village, which is located in the shadow of Belvoir Castle from May 23 to 25, with a brand new pirate-themed production featuring an extraordinary team of performers and aerial athletes.

Performing two shows each day, at 11am and 2pm, across the bank holiday weekend, the Boom Circus team say they will take visitors on ‘a high-seas adventure, full of theatrical flair and perfectly timed comedy’.

Alongside the performances there will be a whole host of family-friendly activities for visitors to take part in.

A series of fun-filled circus workshops, led by the circus team for children and adults, will go on throughout the weekend in the Belvoir Retail Village.

These interactive activities will get participants juggling and spinning plates like a professional.

Maya Tenenbaum Jones, artiste coordinator at Boom Circus, said: “The new creation, 'Pirates' by Boom Circus, is a medley of theatre, comedy and modern circus.

"We are delighted to return with our Big Top to the grounds of Belvoir Castle with an all new show packed full of breathtaking acrobatics, dazzling aerial and dangerously funny slapstick.

“We pride ourselves on providing that traditional circus experience with a modern twist, creating a story full of colourful characters who will have the whole family laughing.”

Eleanor Melville, marketing manager at Belvoir Castle said, “We are so excited to welcome back Boom Circus after their incredible sell-out performances last year and can’t wait see what this year’s pirate show has in store.

"Last year’s circus skills workshops were incredibly popular, with people of all ages getting stuck in.”

Visitors can also enjoy the Adventure Playground and the Animal Park, as well as wandering around the various outlets at the retail park.

Standard tickets for the Boom Circus Pirates of the Big Top are £20 for adults, £12 for children (aged three to 16) with under threes admitted free.
