Melton grandmother runs marathon carrying soft toy in memory of baby grandson
Jane Brown poignantly carried a blue Teddy every step of her London Marathon in memory of her baby grandson.
The Melton 54-year-old finished the 26 miles in just over six hours to raise more than £3,000 for Nottingham baby loss and bereavement support charity, Forever Stars.

The charity funded the Queen’s Medical Centre’s Serenity Suite used by daughter and her fiancee – Mary and Aidan – after their son, Hugo, was tragically ‘born sleeping’.
Jane was cheered on in the capital by family members, including Mary and Aidan, her husband Andy and her parents.
"I had a picture of Hugo on the back of my top and his blue Teddy, which kept me going when it got hard, remembering why I was doing it,” she told the Melton Times.
“Up to mile 18 I felt really good but, after that, it started to get a bit tougher and I had to walk on and off but I was determined to finish.
“Running over the finish line and getting my medal was so emotional. I'm just so proud of myself, all the hard work I put into the training over the winter paid off.”
Jane was running her first ever marathon almost a year to the day of the family tragedy and her thoughts were never far away from baby Hugo and her family.
Forever Stars provides and maintains two bereavement suites in Nottingham - including the one at the city hospital - as well as a baby loss remembrance garden in Highfields Park, a support centre, and helps families throughout their baby loss journey.
