This Sunday, June 30th, starting at 10am, at the Melton Country Park, local CIC Sunny Skies Enterprise are hosting their annual Walk For Welly’s!

This event is held every summer to celebrate the community work that enables Sunny Skies Enterprise CIC to reach people in need and to continue to develop and create inclusive opportunities for the whole of Melton!

Members of the community can take part in this event by coming down to the Cafe and getting stuck into a variety of different activities!

The biggest activity being a ten mile ramble around the country park. Run it, walk it, dress up for it, sit at the halfway point and cheer on the walkers, any partaking is still taking part! Or stay at the cafe and have a crack at the day's other events!

The cafe will be hosting a raffle with some very good prizes, as one of our longest Welly’s Workers, Ed Sowter, would say “Best prizes ever.”.

There are chances to win Leicester Tigers tickets, Golf Lessons with local professional Tony Westwood, meal vouchers, hampers and much much more all supplied from local businesses graciously showing their support.

Other games include a tombola, a bean bag toss, face painting and more!

The Cafe will be open, offering the usual homemade goodies, delicious cakes and bakes, homemade lemonade, and hot food whilst a group of local musicians performs live music.

The forecast for this Sunday is hot, so wear your sunscreen and don your shorts and don’t forget a hat!

Funds raised will be allocated towards building and developing a therapeutic, fully accessible space for adults with disabilities. We have a crowdfunding page set up to raise funds for those who can’t make it on the day or just want to show some extra support!
