Preparations for the forthcoming open gardens event at Whissendine are well underway.

On Sunday (July,2) eight village home owners will be opening their gardens to show members of the public.

Organiser Linda Arnold said: “It will be a lovely family day out. As well as some beautiful gardens being open there will be delicious lunches and teas served at the village hall and there is also a children’s picture treasure hunt to help them explore the village.”

Tickets are available from the village green and cost £4 for adults with accompanied children free.

The flourishing gardens are open from 10am to 5pm.

Linda added: “The ducks are a new addition to one of the gardens and they can be spotted waddling in the undergrowth or paddling on the pond.”
